Kodoani.com – Kadokawa's Emerald Magazine Twitter account announced on Wednesday that the manga Hakkenden: Tōhō Hakken Ibun by Miyuki Abe will conclude with the 82nd chapter in the summer issue, which will be released at the end of August.
Abe's manga reimagines the setting of the classic Hakkenden samurai novel as a female-oriented story with supernatural elements. The manga was inspired by two anime seasons produced by Studio DEEN in 2013.
Abe began publishing the manga in Tosuisha's Ichi*Raki magazine in 2005. Abe then moved to Kadokawa Shoten publisher in 2011 and began serializing the manga in the publisher's Ciel magazine. The manga then moved to a new Emerald magazine, inspired by Sekaiichi Hatsukoi, in 2014. Kadokawa published the 23rd compiled book volume on December 28.
