Aya Hirano, Kaori Fukuhara, Emiri Katō, Aya Endo, Minori Chihara, Yuko Goto reprise their roles
Kodoani.com – To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the series “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” and “Lucky Star“, the cast of both anime will reunite on stage to perform a special live reading on March 10. The event will be part of the “SOS☆Appreciation Festival” in Tokyo. Tokorozawa Sakura Town in Saitama from March 9 to 24.
The reading session will be divided into two versions, morning and evening. During the daytime session, Aya Hirano, Kaori Fukuhara, Emiri Katō and Aya Endo will reprise their roles from “Lucky Star” to read the story written by the anime’s script supervisor, Touko Machida. Later in the evening, Hirano, Minori Chihara and Yuko Goto will reprise their roles from “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” to read the script based on the story “Wandering Shadow” in the novel collection “The Indignation of Haruhi Suzumiya”.
The festival will also include screenings of selected episodes and panel discussions with actors on March 9, 16 and 23.
Fans can enter a pre-draw to purchase tickets, starting January 20. They can also purchase tickets online to watch the event on Niconico and Streaming+ services until March 17.
The anime series “The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya” premiered in 2006 and was rebroadcast in 2009 with new episodes and a new chronological order. The story is based on the novel of the same name by Nagaru Tanigawa and Noizi Ito. The film was produced by Kyoto Animation.
