Kodoani.com – Kojima Productions, managed by director Hideo Kojima, has announced a new game titled FROM at The Game Awards last Thursday. Kojima is collaborating with film director and comedian Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us, Nope) on this project. In OD, actress Sophia Lillis (It, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves) will participate.
Kojima describes the project as not just a game but also a film and a “new type of media.” He also shared that the game will feature collaborations with many other creators and artists.
Hideo Kojima led the design and scripting of Konami’s Metal Gear games in 1987. This project contributed to the creation of the stealth game genre and paved the way for the Metal Gear product line. He left Konami in December 2015, and subsequently, his studio Kojima Productions became independent.
Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding, their first indie title, released on PlayStation 4 in November 2019. The PC version of the game was published by 505 Games in early summer 2020. Two parts The game’s novel was released in November 2019, and the Steelbook version was released in February 2020. Death Stranding won the Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design and Outstanding Technical Achievement awards at the 23rd DICE Awards in February 2020. The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) also awarded Kojima a Fellowship at the BAFTA Game Awards in April 2020.
Kojima Productions has established a new division specializing in music, television and film, headquartered in Los Angeles, California from November 2021. Currently, Kojima Productions is continuing to develop the Death Stranding 2 game.
