Recently, the Game Working Committee of the China Music and Digital Association, the China Game Industry Research Institute and Gamma Data jointly released the Progress Report on the Protection of Minors in the Game Industry play China in 2022. The report mentions that by 2022, the number of Internet users under the age of 19 will reach 186 million, accounting for 17.6% of the total number of Internet users.

At the same time, under the anti-gaming restrictions, 29.25% of minors’ gaming dropped. In 2022, the game deposit rate dropped from 28.61% to 15.43%. Game companies’ anti-addiction system has covered more than 90% of underage players, in terms of specific measures, fighting game addiction mainly revolves around real-name authentication, avoiding game addiction.
Looking at the specific results data, Tencent’s Q3 2022 financial report shows that in July, the playing time of minors decreased by 92% compared to the same period last year, accounting for only 0.7%. compared to the same period.
The proportion of underage users registering on the self-operated platform of Shengqu Games has decreased from 0.9% in 2021 to 0.05%, and the percentage of underage users registering to deposit has decreased from 0.009% down 0.0005%.
According to China Mobile Games’ financial report data, the proportion of people playing games in the first half of 2022 dropped to 0.0029%, compared with 0.026% in the same period last year, a decrease of nearly 90%.
Game makers still apply facial recognition systems; expand the scope of game monitoring and improve the game monitoring system for all platforms to further limit players who are too passionate about online games.
