How many episodes will there be in the 2nd part of The Rising of the Shield Hero
Kodoani.com – Initially delayed from October 2021, second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero is finally about to be broadcast! It’s been almost three years since the first season ended, so to say we’re excited is an understatement. However, one of the biggest questions from fans is how many episodes will The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 have?
The first season ran for two consecutive seasons over half a year, helping to strengthen the fan base and deliver an epic journey without a mid-season break.
Will season 2 get the same treatment, or will fans have to prepare for a shorter adventure with Naofumi, Raphtalia, and Filo? We did some research to find out.
How many episodes will the Rise of the Shield Hero season 2 have?
The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2 will have 13 episodes. The news was announced through the anime’s Japanese Twitter account.

In a tweet from Shield Hero’s official Twitter account announcing the Blu-ray & DVD release, fans noticed that the episode count for the upcoming season appears to be 13 episodes.
Even before this announcement, many people thought that the upcoming season would be one part, instead of the first two.
One of the main reasons people believe that season two might just be a single release is due to the general announcement of seasons 2 and 3. With season 3 already confirmed, some fans believe that both 2 and 3 will be the only duos to match season 1.
Then there’s the adaptive speed. The first season covers the first five volumes of the light novel. The sequel to the story is the Magic Turtle Season, which runs for about two episodes and features featured visuals for The Rising of the Shield Hero Season 2.
Including that story in one season (12-13 episodes) roughly matches the pacing of the first season.
It doesn’t matter the amount of source material for Shield Hero’s Rise. There are more than 20 light novels in total, excluding side stories.
Since season 3 was announced at the same time, we can expect that season to follow up pretty quickly after season 2 airs. As such, it may feel more like a split season than the wait fans have had between season one and season two.
Regardless of how long the second season of The Rising of the Shield Hero will last, we can’t wait to see what happens next!
