Adaptation of Shimesaba's light novel series launched in November 2018
Kodoani.com – March issue of the magazine Monthly Shōnen Ace Kadokawa publishing house has just published the final chapter of the manga adapted from the light novel Higehiro: After Being Rejected, I Shaved and Took in a High School Runaway (Hige o Soru. Soshite Joshi Kōsei o Hirō.) do Imaru Adachi illustration. The 13th and final volume of this manga will be released on March 24.

Yoshida is an ordinary office worker whose life revolves around work and alcohol. One night on his way home, he happened to meet a runaway high school girl sitting on the sidewalk. She offered to “swap her body” for a place to stay, but Yoshida refused and asked her to do housework instead. From here begins a humorous romantic story between two people who seem to have nothing to do with each other.
Manga development process:
Manga adaptation by Imaru Adachi made, launched on Monthly Shōnen Ace enter November 2018. Kadokawa released the 12th volume on October 25, 2023 and the final episode will be released on March 2024.
Original light novel:
Original work by Shimesaba composed, first posted on the site Kakuyomu enter March 2017.
Kadokawa Sneaker Bunko published a printed version with illustrations by boootastarting from February 2018. The light novel series ends with the fifth volume, released on June 2021.
Yen Press also published the entire light novel in English.
Anime adaptation:
The manga was adapted into a television anime, premiering on April 2021.
Crunchyroll broadcast the anime when it aired in Japan, and also provided an English dub version.
