Kodoani.com – TO Books announced on Friday that the popular light novel series by Tadashi Kubō and Nokito is The Water Magician (Mizuzokusei no Mahōtsukai), will be adapted into a television anime and is scheduled to air in July on TBS and other channels.
Main cast has been revealed, including:
Ayumu Murase as Ryō, the main character with water magical abilities.
Kazuki Ura as Abel, an adventurous swordsman.
Kaede Hondo takes on the role of Sera, an adventurer belonging to the fairy race.
The anime production features the participation of Hideyuki Satake (director who worked on Delicious in Dungeon and Deca-Dence), directed at Typhoon Graphics và Wonderland. Origin and development:
Kubō began publishing the story on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website from April to June 2020. TO Books published the first novel volume in March 2021, with illustrations by Nokito. The 11th episode premieres in July 2024, and the 12th episode will release on January 15, 2025.
Bokutengō adapted the story into a manga, which debuted on Comic Corona in September 2021. Another children's manga adaptation under the TO Junior Bunko label is also being released, with a fourth volume scheduled to premiere on September 1 February.
J-Novel Club will release the light novel and manga in English, giving international readers the opportunity to enjoy this engaging and innovative story. With promises from the production team and unique plot content, The Water Magician is expected to become one of the most anticipated anime in the summer of 2025.
