Yuriko Asami draws new manga adaptation of Violet Evergarden’s novel series
Kodoani.com – Kadokawa’s G’s Channel website announced on Monday that the novel series Shunka Shūtō Daikōsha of Kana Akatsuki is planning a new manga adaptation titled Shunka Shūtō Daikōsha Moka Momoyo (Four Seasons’ Proxy Hundred Songs, Hundred Leaves; unconfirmed transliteration). Yuriko Asami will draw the manga. The manga still doesn’t have a release date, but it will be serialized on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker website and on the Dengeki G’s Comic section of the Nico Nico Seiga website.
Asami also drew a new image to celebrate the announcement. The image below features the characters Itechō Kangetsu (left) and Sakura Himedaka (right), who are security officials for the Winter and Spring proxies, respectively.
Asami, Jun Maeda, and Na-Ga launched the Angel Beats!: Heaven’s Door manga in Kadokawa’s Dengeki G ‘s Magazine in 2010, then ported it to Dengeki G’s Comic. The series ended in 2016.
Akatsuki’s Shunka Shūtō Daikōsha Haru no Mai previously had a manga adaptation by Nappa Komatsuda. The manga launched in Hakusensha’s LaLa magazine in July 2022. Hakusensha will publish the manga’s first compiled book volume on January 4.
The novel takes place in a world with only one season, Winter. Winter lives a lonely existence, and so they create spring. Soon after, due to the wishes of the land, Summer and Autumn were also born, and the four seasons were complete. The human children responsible for bringing new seasons every three months are known as the “Representatives of the Four Seasons”.
Kadokawa published Akatsuki’s Shunka Shūtō Daikōsha Haru no Mai (Violet Evergarden) novel with illustrations by Suō, and it published the two volumes together in April 2021. The novel topped Kono’s 2022 edition. Light Novel ga Sugoi by Takarajimasha ! (Light Novel Is Amazing!) New Title Category 2021. The two Shunka Shūtō Daikōsha Natsu no Mai (Summer Dance) novels are published together in July 2022. Shunka Shūtō Daikōsha Akatsuki no Shashu (Light Novel Is Amazing!) Archer of the Dawn) will be published January 7.
Akatsuki’s Violet Evergarden novel series won the grand prize in the novel category of the fifth Kyoto Animation Award program in 2014. Akatsuki has published the novels under Kyoto Animation’s KA Esuma Bunko label. The novel has had a television anime in 2018, a spin-off anime in 2019, and an anime sequel in 2020.
