Kodoani.com – Website for anime adaptations of manga Dark Gathering of Kenichi Kondō revealed on Saturday that Kana Hanazawa will perform the anime’s ending theme song “Haiiro” (Grey). Konomi Fujimura and Katsutoshi Kitagawa wrote the song, and Kitagawa also composed and arranged the song.
The anime premieres in July and stars Yū Sasahara as Yayoi Hо̄zuki, Nobunaga Shimazaki as Keitarō Gentо̄ga, Kana Hanazawa as Eiko Hо̄zuki, and Rina Kawaguchi as Ai Kamiyo.
Hiroshi Ikehata directed the anime at OLM. Shigeru Murakoshi is overseeing the series’ scripts, and Shin’ya Segawa is the character designer. Kohta Yamamoto, Shun Narita, and Yūsuke Seo will be composing the music. Other staff members include Taijirō Nagata as art director, Yuho Ando as chief photography officer, Takahiro Uezono as 3D director, Ritsuko Utagawa as color designer and Kōhei Yoshida as sound director.
The manga focuses on Keitarō Gentōga, who has the ability to become a spirit vehicle. In middle school, he got another person caught up in a soul-possession incident, and he lived in seclusion for more than two years. While reintroducing himself to society as a private tutor, he meets a genius girl named Yayoi Hōzuki. Yayoi is immediately able to tell that Keitarō is skilled as a spirit vehicle, and she invites him to accompany her to a haunted location. After that, the two begin their journey to capture evil spirits.
Kondō launched the manga in Shueisha’s Jump SQ magazine in March 2019.
