Kizumonogatari -Vamp Edition- has revealed new trailers and images ahead of its premiere on January 12, 2024 in Japan. The film is a theatrical adaptation of the Kizumonogatari trilogy. The film has apparently been dubbed Koyomi Vamp in its English title.
The new project will be a collage combining the movies Tekketsu, Nekketsu and Reiketsu. The films animated by SHAFT are adaptations of the second installment in the Monogatari light novel series. Tatsuya Oishi is in charge of directing and writing the script for the Kizumonogatari -Vamp Edition- project.
The first two films in the Kizumonogatari trilogy were released in 2016, while the third part followed in 2017. Akiyuki Shinbo and Oishi co-directed them. Shinbo also worked on the script with Yuki Kizawa and Muneo Nakamoto – SHAFT is also credited for that.
The Monogatari light novel series is written by Nisi Oisin and illustrated by Vofan. The series began serialization in 2006, and although the volumes cover different seasons, each season’s title ends in -monogatari. Bakemonogatari is a manga adaptation of a light novel, illustrated by Oh! Great. It has been serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine since 2018.
