Kodansha Ltd. announced on Wednesday that it has launched a K MANGA service for browsers.
Kodoani.com – The K MANGA service launched as an app for iOS and Android on May 10 with around 400 titles including 60 simulpub titles. The first few chapters of most titles are available for free. The Service uses a Ticket and Points based system. The new service includes more than 30 manga that previously did not have an English release.
Kodansha Ltd. will be holding an online launch party for the service on June 22. The launch party will feature manga creators Hiro Mashima and Reiji Miyajima in a live chat, and Mashima will do a live chat. direct drawing. The event will also feature a pre-recorded interview with Hajime Isayama, and original video messages and illustrations signed by 16 manga authors will be given away to viewers.
This service is currently only available in the United States. Kodansha told ANN that because they had to “meet a variety of requirements for each country,” such as laws and regulations, they only started offering services in the United States.
