Kodoani.com – The July issue of Afternoon magazine announced on Wednesday that the manga Land of the Lustrous (Hōseki no Kuni) by Haruko Ichikawa will return from a hiatus in the magazine’s next issue on June 24.
The manga went on hiatus in December 2020.
Kodansha Comics is publishing the manga in English and it describes the story:
In a world inhabited by crystalline lifeforms known as The Lustrous, every unique gem must fight for its way of life against the threat of lunatics who will turn them into decorations. Phosphophyllite, the most fragile and fragile gem, yearns to join the battle. Instead, when Phos was assigned to complete the natural history of their world, it sounded like a dull and pointless task. But this new job brings Phos into contact with Cinnabar, a gem forced to live in isolation. Can Phos’ seemingly mundane quest lead both Phos and Cinnabar to what they want?
Ichikawa launched Land of the Lustrous in Afternoon magazine in 2012. Kodansha released the 11th volume in July 2020.
A 12-episode anime adaptation of the manga premiered in October 2017.
