T1 seems to be the rare top LCK team that is still “immoving” in the middle of the busy transfer season. T1’s first move was to part with manager Polt.
Keeping the transfer season busy with sellers and buyers, T1 is still quite relaxed because it has a young and solid frame, the only thing they are waiting for is just Faker’s nod. However, T1 made a move just when everyone thought they would “be immobile” until the end of the season.
T1 unexpectedly parted ways with manager, former head coach Polt. On the homepage T1 announced this breakup in a simple way: “Today, we regret to say goodbye to coach Polt (Choi Seong-hoon). We especially appreciate it. your dedication at T1 and wish you the best of luck in the future.”
Polt has devoted to T1 for 2 years with 2 important positions: manager and head coach. Polt arrived at T1 at the same time as coaches Daeny and Zefa (November 2020). Initially, he was in charge of senior management (General Manager).
But after a series of scandals behind the scenes between Coach Daeny and his students leading to the dismissal of both main coaches, Polt was reluctant to fill the void left by his colleagues. And then when Bengi returned as a coach, Polt was returned to his original position.
It can be said that regardless of position, Polt has completed his task well at T1. Under head coach Polt, T1 suddenly performed extremely well and continuously finished in the championship and runner-up positions. It can be said that Polt actually somewhat revived T1 after the unnecessary mess left by his former colleague.
At the last Worlds, Polt gave up his seat to Coach Bengi to retire later, perhaps he has also determined that he will leave this team and needs to start training a replacement. Leaving T1, Polt also had a series of achievements with this team: the LCK Spring 2022 championship, the runner-up at MSI 2022, the runner-up at the 2022 LCK Summer, and the runner-up at Worlds 2022. Polt will be a very expensive name in the transfer market in the near future.
