After the new outfit Syndra Freedom Du Linh, the Dark Queen was again mid-range edited by Riot Games to come back strong in the Summoner’s Rift arena.
Syndra has long been a mage with the most fearsome shock damage in League of Legends. Stable strength over time, good minion clear, and unexpected stun ability have made Syndra the strongest Mage in League of Legends for a while. However, at the moment, the Dark Queen is not really too strong and is not a priority choice in ranked or professional matches. At version 12.17, Syndra achieved a mere 47.09% win rate and a meager pick of only about 2.09% (according to op.gg), it is clear that after many changes, the Dark Queen is a bit exhausted to compete with the Ahri, Viktor or Azir who are storming recently.
Syndra is looking pretty exhausted to compete with the top mid lane picks right now
Therefore, Riot Games decided to bring a mid-range edit to the Dark Queen in the upcoming 12.19 patch. This information has been mentioned by the “father” of League of Legends in the previous 2023 Pre-Season video, according to Riot Games, in the near future we will also have a similar change for Neeko.
A comprehensive edit of Syndra’s skill set that was mentioned in a previous Riot Games video
In this focused edit, Syndra’s skill set will be changed as follows:
Basic stats:
Base health reduced from 593 to 563.
Passive – Ultimate:
NEW: Wrath Shards Syndra can now upgrade skills by collecting Wrath Shards. Syndra uses a skill to hit an enemy champion twice within 4 seconds to gain 1/2/3 Wrath Shards (based on level 1/11/18). This passive has an 8 second cooldown. Furthermore, Syndra will receive 5 Fragments each time you level up. Eating the Rook minion will also get 1 Piece. Syndra will restore 20 – 215 Mana (based on level) every time Fragments are collected from enemies. At the milestones of 40, 60, 80, 100 Fragments of Wrath, Syndra will upgrade skills Q, W, E, R respectively and the icons of skills will change color. At 120, Syndra gains 15% more Ability Power.
Skill Q – Shadow Orb:
Cooldown increased from 4 seconds to 7 seconds. Mana cost reduced from 40 – 80 to 40 – 60. Shadow Orb’s duration increased from 6 seconds to 6.5 seconds. NEW: When upgrading her Q skill at 40 stacks of Wrath Shards, Syndra can store up to 2 Shadow Orbs, each with a duration of 1 second.
Skill W – Willpower:
Skill cast range increased from 400 to 450. Bug fix: Willpower no longer causes enemies to be dragged to death immediately after casting NEW: When upgrading W at 60 stacks of Wrath Shard, Syndra deals an additional 15 % (+ 1.5% per 100 Ability Power) true damage.
Skill E – Sweep the Weak:
Damage reduced from 85 – 265 (+60% Ability Power) to 75 – 235 (55% Ability Power). Skill cone width increased from 34 degrees to 56 degrees. Cooldown reduced from 18-14 seconds to 15 seconds at all ranks. Stun duration reduced from 1.5 seconds to 1.25 seconds. Bugfix: E+Q chains at close range now deal normal damage instead of losing damage due to the bug. NEW: When E skill is upgraded at 80 stacks of Wrath Shard, Scavenger’s width will be increased to 84 degrees, and when Syndra successfully Stuns or Repels enemies with this skill, Slows them down 75% for 1.25 seconds
Skill R – Explosion of Power:
NEW: Q skill grants 10/20/30 Skill Regen. Skill damage reduced from 90 – 190 (+20% Ability Power) to 90 – 170 (+17% Ability Power). NEW: When upgrading R at 100 stacks of Wrath Shards, Boom of Power now has the ability to FINISH enemy champions below 15% Health.
Edit details for Syndra at version 12.19
The notable point in this mid-range mod for Syndra is the new Passive of the Dark Lord. The shift from skill leveling to Wrath Fragments based upgrades makes it easier for Syndra to snowball the opponent if they have an early game advantage. This is similar to Viktor’s Passive through clearing minions and taking down enemy champions. In contrast, Syndra is also easier to regain the advantage if unfortunately leading in the laning phase than having to wait to level up to upgrade Skills. In return, the Dark Queen now has to upgrade each skill sequentially from Q -> W -> E -> R instead of maxing out Q -> E -> R -> W as before. However, since the upgrade gap between skills is only 20 Shadow Shards, Syndra can easily upgrade her kit very quickly if she knows how to use them correctly and clear minions from the laning phase.
Another thing that is equally special is the upgrade of the skill R – Explosion of Power when reaching 100 Wrath Fragments. The ability to Kill an enemy champion below 15% Health is considered quite hectic, the community thinks that this edit will cause the Dark Queen to skyrocket the win rate or even lose the balance in the near future. The truth is that because Killing enemy champions below 15% Health makes it possible for Syndra to eliminate the enemy’s Resist generals, or champions with good recovery or simply kill the main enemy with a series of moves. exactly.
Conclude:
Upgrading the Dark Queen’s skill set will also come with the release of the Syndra Freedom Du Linh skin. This change is expected to arrive at patch 12.19, hopefully with the upcoming tweaks, Syndra will come back strongly in Ranked matches, even further into professional matches in the new season. . Game4V will continuously update information and changes of Riot Games to readers as soon as possible.
