From a lousy performance with an extremely low win rate, Zeri is slowly coming back strong since patch 12.23.
Before version 12.23 was released, Zeri was almost rated as the worst AD carry champion in League of Legends. This comes from numerous tweaks to her kit, most of which are nerfs and make Zaun’s Lightning Citadel appear to be extremely weak in ranked matches. There was a time when Zeri’s win rate bottomed out at 41.84%

However, everything changed when version 12.23 was officially released. This update Riot Games has given more love to Zeri when bringing quality tweaks to her. Currently, although Lightning Zaun is not a top ADC in the meta, her win rate has improved significantly from 41.84% to 50.32% (according to u.gg)
The first reason why Zeri can make such a spectacular makeover is thanks to a series of her basic parameters that Riot has increased sharply in the last update. This is the most important factor to help Lightning of Zaun improve the early laning phase.
Not to mention that Zeri’s skill set is also significantly improved by Riot from base damage, bonus movement speed. This change makes Zeri one level stronger than her “worst AD carry” version in previous versions.
Zeri is also starting to make a comeback as a reliable pick at major League of Legends tournaments recently. Typically, in the Demacia Cup 2022, she and Yuumi combined into a good duo to become the “power pick” of the teams during the pick and ban phase.

Overall, thanks to a series of positive changes Riot made for Lightning Castle Zaun in version 12.23. Zeri has really changed, and has gradually taken the position of becoming one of the many top AD carry champions in the upcoming meta with the opportunity to show up in the big tournaments in the future.
