A big buff in patch 12.23 for Kassadin will definitely help the Void Traveler come back strong in Mid lane in the 2023 Pre-Season.
Kassadin is one of the famous Mid lane generals in the game League of Legends, the times when Void Bo France (R) evaporated the main enemy has long become his trademark. However, in the past year, the Void Traveler did not have a very strong foothold. Although in patch 12.22, Kassadin’s favorite item, “Staff of Life” is back, but his win rate is still below 50%
Kassadin has only 49.24% win rate in the current version
Even with his favorite gear back, Kassadin probably still needs more buffs for himself to get back into the mid lane better. Therefore, in the upcoming 12.23 version, Riot decided to help Void Travelers have an easier early game.
Specifically, Kassadin is expected to receive the following changes:
Void Orb (Q):
The shield now appears immediately upon casting, instead of having to wait for the orb to leave Kassadin’s body like before
Shield value changed from 60/90/120/150/180 (+40% Ability Power) to 80/110/140/170/200 (+30% Ability Power)
Void Pressure (E):
The ability now no longer relies on stacks to use like before
Cooldown changed from 5 seconds at all ranks to 21 – 13 seconds
NEW: Every time a skill is cast near Kassadin, its cooldown is reduced by 1 second
Overall, Riot has given the Void Traveler a very useful change in the upcoming version. The shield appears faster, and the higher base virtual armor will give Kassadin more resistance in the Early Game against rival Mages. Most importantly, Void Pressure (E) has been changed quite a lot, no longer depending on stacks will make Kassadin more comfortable to use this skill, creating huge amounts of damage in combat.
These changes will definitely make Void Travelers a formidable force in the Mid lane area in the near future. However, according to Riot Joe White – a game developer, currently, the tweaks to Kassadin are still at an experimental level and can completely be changed later. Version 12.23 is expected to land on December 7, if all changes are kept, it will be a good sign for players who love Void Travelers and use him to climb ranks in This Season Money
