A series of big changes to the ARAM mode in the 2023 Pre-Season are making many players angry.
Riot Games in the past time has continuously updated, bringing many changes to the ARAM mode of League of Legends. Among them, some changes to the Howling Abyss map such as obstacles or portals have really made a big transformation for this featured game mode.
However, with many players, ARAM still has a lot of bugs that need to be pointed out. Especially recently, a user on Reddit listed a series of problems surrounding this game mode, stemming from many of Riot’s changes to ARAM recently. Among them can be mentioned the obstacles created by the turrets when destroyed, or the recent champion balance, the unbalanced respawn time leading to the snowball proved to be very simple.
Players criticize recent changes to ARAM
The obstacle that appears after the turret is destroyed is one of the biggest changes Riot brings to the Howling Abyss map in ARAM mode. Although it has really brought a breath of fresh air to this game mode, players also think that this makes certain champions like having wide-impact moves even stronger.
The obstacle after the tower is destroyed is one of the most significant changes Riot brings to the Howling Abyss map
If the opposing team has champions with strong wide area damage like Miss Fortune, standing behind an obstacle will be an effective way for her to deal damage to your squad without revealing her vision. Because of that, key skills can be launched more unexpectedly and turn the tide of the fight. This also gives the team the advantage to take the lead and destroy the turret before the opponent.
The second important issue that the author mentioned is the respawn time in ARAM mode. With the appearance of the portal, the team that takes the lead and destroys the turret will have a higher chance of winning because they will continuously push towards the opponent without fear of a counterattack. Also because the respawn time is too long, they will easily deal large amounts of damage to the opponent’s buildings before being defeated. And then when they respawn, they’ll soon be back at their turrets thanks to the portal, making the opponent’s push back meaningless.
