Detecting a serious drop in win rate, Riot had to urgently buff Rammus after nerfing Pangolin in patch 13.1.
League of Legends version 13.1, which just landed on January 10, dealt a heavy blow to Rammus and made the champion’s win rate hit 42.94% according to U.GG. Feeling that it was a bit overkill with Pangolin, Riot recently decided to hot buff this champion in the next hotfix.
Rammus win rate hit bottom after nerf in patch 13.1
To improve the situation of Rammus when the champion’s win rate dropped further after only 1 version. Riot decided to sharply increase the basic resistances for Pangolin as follows:
Basic parameters:
Base Health increased from 614 to 675 Attack Damage increased from 53 to 55 Base Armor increased from 36 to 40
W – Defense Position:
Bonus armor increased from 25 to 35
Not only was nerfed in patch 13.1, Rammus’s favorite item is Jak’Sho, Adaptive Mantle was also significantly nerfed in the last patch. Especially when this equipment can only increase the bonus resistance by 20%, instead of the total as before. This not only made Rammus but many champions who liked this item also noticeably weakened and had to switch to other stronger options.
However, most of the comments from fans still think that Riot’s hotfix cannot improve Rammus’s condition when his gameplay has become old, no longer suitable. However, until now, Riot has not had any plans with Pangolin in the future, but they are still focusing on other champions like Rell or Skarner.
To sum up, the new hotfix tweaks for Rammus can hopefully help give Pangolin a little more foothold in this version 13.1. However, because Rammus’s favorite item has been significantly reduced in power, players should only use this champion to counter a squad rich in offensive power, but cannot be abused like previous versions.
