Asuna, the popular heroine of the Sword Art Online series, will receive a fitting tribute to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the anime and the recent release of Sword Art Online The Movie – Progressive: Scherzo of Deep Night. A life-size statue of Asuna in a wedding dress was displayed on the 5th floor of the Shibuya Parco department store on Friday. She will be there until February 7.
The 1/One Slash figure shop, directly managed by Parco, is selling a 1/7 scale version of the statue. The dress is made of high quality ATBC-PVC (Acetyl tributyl citrate-polyvinyl chloride) made of plasticizer. Other Sword Art Online items are also available in-store and through Parco’s online store.
Note that the life-sized statue is for display only and there are currently no plans to sell it directly to the public.
In an interview with Sword Art Online series creator Kawahara Reki, the author said the female characters in Sword Art Online are not based on anyone he knows, saying, “I didn’t create one. object, setting, or anything that I know. I don’t know exactly, but somehow my brilliant idea or some hidden emotion created the characters.
