Faker's “low key” style almost got him into trouble.
Among the top League of Legends players in the world today, perhaps Faker is one of the most “profitable” names on social networks. His posts can often be understood as mandatory requirements in advertising contracts. Perhaps, if Faker voluntarily uses social networks (specifically Instagram), it will be some special event associated with himself as well as T1. This made Faker almost “hate” because he did not know Instagram's photo mechanism.
Accordingly, in the photos Faker posted on this social network on the occasion of T1 winning the 2024 World Championship, one photo cuts out Rekkles, the other photo cuts out Zeus. However, the cropped photo of Rekkles was ranked first and immediately caused a stir in the League of Legends community. Because, Faker is always a sophisticated, standard player and Rekkles is just a reserve for T1. But soon after, Faker immediately deleted the old post and replaced it with a series of new photos.
Fans also tried their best to defend Faker
Obviously, with his personality, it would be unbelievable to believe that Faker “intentionally” posted a photo with any member that was cropped like that. Furthermore, fans also tried to justify Faker, when other photos were also cropped of many of T1's members, such as Zeus or T1's BHL. It shows that Faker is simply “low-key” to the point of not knowing Instagram's photo mechanism.
Furthermore, T1 and Faker themselves were extremely enthusiastic about Rekkles. LEC's former Super ADC himself has shown how well he gets along with T1, so it is unlikely that in the present time, it would be revealed that he was discriminated against.
As an experienced professional player and famous for his proper behavior both on and off the field, Faker will know what he has to do to keep everything as smooth as possible. But this may also be an experience for T1's Mid Lane to “harden” to update technology and social networks in the future.
