Ahead of Worlds 2022, some players from the LPL are being criticized by the community for being lazy when they don’t actively climb the ranks as before.
In just a few days, the 2022 World Finals will officially start. In this tournament, 4 representatives of LPL including JD Gaming, Top Esports, EDward Gaming and Royal Never Give Up. These are considered the 4 strongest representatives that LPL can send to 1 Worlds, so far.
Because of the depth of the roster, the LPL community of course expects the representatives of their region to continue to hold the championship to stay with League of Legends. In particular, perhaps many people also expect that the LPL representatives will go deep into the inner rounds. Like at Worlds 2021, although EDG won the championship, in the semifinals, only they faced 3 LCK teams. Except for RNG’s defeat against EDG, both FunPlus Phoenix and LNG Esports “dropped” early.
However, a part of the LPL fan community is not satisfied. Specifically, there have been many players of the two most anticipated teams, JDG and TES, who have rested for a while. Some people have almost 1 month without climbing rank. Particularly, only Kanavi and Missing (JDG) as well as Wayward (TES) still enter the rank but not often.
But perhaps, because the expectations are too high, the LPL audience feels insecure. In fact, professional teams all arrange scientifically so that the players have the highest training time as well as a balance with rest. Therefore, the players who do not climb the rank much may also be in the arrangement and control of the host teams. Moreover, Worlds 2022 is approaching and certainly no one wants these names to add pressure before officially entering the tournament.
