Episode 7 of Made in Abyss begins to unravel Iruburu’s dark origins while continuing to show the high cost of survival in the abyss.

Kodoani.com – Tập 7 của Made in Abyss: The Golden City of the Scorching Sun takes viewers back in time to reveal the survival story of the Ganja Legion. While Riko, Nanachi, and Reg are forced to confront Iruburu’s eccentricities, the Ganja Legion must overcome their existence in this part of the uncharted abyss. The dangers continued to multiply until sacrifice became the only option. Will the fate of Riko and her friends inevitably parallel the fate of the Ganja Legion?

“Cradle of Desire” finally sheds light on Iruburu’s dark origins as it explores the struggle of the Ganja Legion to survive and the growing importance that Irumyuui will hold. Irumyuui was exiled by her tribe because she was unable to bear children, only to be abandoned by Vueko when she started out of the Legion. Vueko convinces Belaf and Wazukyan that Irumyuui can act as their guide, as she is more familiar with the abyss and its threats. Vueko’s caring nature melts away Irumyuui’s feelings of abandonment as she regards Vueko as a mother. However, as the episode continues, it becomes clear that Irumyuui has not yet fully escaped his tragic fate.

Although the Ganja Corps had support from the Jamming Units, they still faced a huge risk of defeat. As always, the creatures of the abyss provide an immediate threat. Also, once they know that there is no way humans can rise from those depths and survive, they have no choice but to fight to succeed. Hope grows when they discover a source of water, but it is immediately extinguished when they learn that water itself is a living being. Even when boiled, the water still made many of them very sick to death. Irumyuui was one of the first victims to fall ill, much to Vueko’s horror. Forced to continue drinking it or risk dehydration, it was only a matter of time before people fell ill. Made in Abyss does not shy away from portraying the grotesque to amplify the horror and hopelessness of a situation, and this episode is no exception.

Hope is rekindled when suddenly, a relic is found. The Jamming Units inform Wazukyan that the relic – the Cradle of Lust – has the ability to grant wishes, but only a child can use it. Since at least some of the legions that survived became pits in Iruburu, and Vueko hinted that the village’s origins were terrible, the Cradle can only be assumed to be the cause. Vueko, still unable to find a cure, convinces Belaf and Wazukyan to allow Irumyuui to use the Cradle in an attempt to save people from illness. While they agreed, the results were unexpected. No one was healed and the disease continued to strike new victims, but Irumyuui – still disfigured by the infection – suddenly returned to high spirits. It is clear that not having any real progress for the entire Corps is clearly not good,

Irumyuui starts to look more and more like a hollow until, horribly, she starts giving birth to creatures of the abyss. The wish that Cradle bestowed was an expression of her sadness at having been abandoned due to infertility. However, none of the creatures were able to survive, so Irumyuui was forced to constantly repeat the trauma due to his inability to create life. Meanwhile, the Legion continued to dwindle, and now Vueko has fallen ill. As their inevitable end drew near, Vueko was relieved to find herself feeling better one day. In her delirium, she dreamed she was being fed a stew – only to learn from Wazukyan that it was not a dream at all. He went on to say that Irumyuui saved them in the end.

Vueko had always revered Wazukyan in great reverence, going so far as to worship him. Were his actions the cause of Vueko’s imprisonment in Doguupu? It seems that the only key to Nanachi’s freedom is for Reg and Riko to find Faputa, but is she connected to Irumyuui, and does that mean she has to make sacrifices too? Made in Abyss continues to prove that the horrors of surviving in the abyss lie not only in the monsters and rigors of nature but also in the extent of one’s actions and their consequences.
