Kodoani.com – Official website of Mahō Shōjo Magical Destroyers (Magic Girl Magical Destroyers), an anime by underground art and music creator Jun Inagawa, has revealed a new visual and anime that will premiere on April 7 on Friday. The anime will be broadcast in the Animeism programming block on MBS, TBS and BS-TBSh channels.
The anime follows four otakus who will fight for freedom, when a mysterious force suddenly begins to eliminate otaku culture in 2008.
The previously revealed cast of the anime includes:

Inagawa is credited for the original story and character designs, drawing on concepts from his previous art projects. Hiroshi Ikehata (FLCL Progressive, Kiratto Pri☆Chan) is directing the anime at Bibury Animation Studio (Grisaia: Phantom Trigger, The Quintessential Quintuplets ∬, Azur Lane). Masao Kawase (Azure Striker Gunvolt action director, assistant director Kiratto Pri☆Chan) is the assistant director. Daishiro Tanimura is in charge of the series’ script. Blue’s voice actress, Aimi, performed the opening theme song “MAGICAL DESTROYER” and composer Akira Hashiba’s 13th tailor group performed the ending theme song “Gospelion in a classic love.”
Inagawa is known for blurring the lines between different subcultures like anime and music. Although Inagawa has collaborated with many clothing brands and musicians, this is the first project where he was able to create something he “really wanted to do”.
The mobile game franchise is called Magical Girl Destroyers Kai. The game will feature the female protagonists of the anime, Anarchy, Blue and Pink. Sumire Uesaka will voice a new female protagonist of the game titled Peace. She is also performing the game’s theme song “Rebellion.” A pre-registration campaign started on February 1st.
