Kodoani.com – Shueisha’s Jump SQ official Twitter account announced on Monday that the manga “Beet the Vandel Buster” by Riku Sanjō and Kōji Inada will be on hiatus and there will be no new chapters in Jump SQ during winter 2024. The new issue of RISE magazine will be published on Wednesday.
The manga is expected to return in the spring issue of the magazine, which will be released in April. Shueisha published the manga’s 17th compiled book volume in July 2023.
“Beet the Vandel Buster” was created by Riku Sanjō and Kōji Inada, who published the series in Weekly Shonen Jump from 2002 to 2006. Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru collaborated on the designs for the series. Viz Media released 12 volumes in English between 2004 and 2007 and describes the content as follows:
“The Vandel Busters are a mobile group of certified monster slayers. Beet’s greatest ambition in life is to become a Buster, but what can you say about an almost insufferable monster hunter? pain of receiving the mystical brand of ‘Vandel Buster Level 1’? Beet is about to learn that being a hero can bring more than he expected…”
After a nearly 10-year hiatus, the pair resumed publishing the manga in Jump SQ magazine in April 2016. However, the manga went on hiatus again in October 2016 and returned in the first issue of Jump SQ. GROWTH in 2018.
“Beet the Vandel Buster” was adapted for a 52-episode anime television series in 2004-2005, as well as a 25-episode sequel anime television series titled “Beet the Vandel Buster Excellion” in 2005-2006. Illumitoon Entertainment distributed released part of the first series on DVD in 2007.
