Kodoani.com – This year’s 22nd issue of Evening magazine announced on Tuesday that Yūji Moritaka and artist Yōsuke Uzumaki’s side story manga is Gurazeni: Natsunosuke no Seishun (Gurazeni: Natsunosuke’s Youth) will end in the magazine’s 23rd issue, which will ship on November 8.
The manga went on hiatus in July 2021 due to Uzumaki’s health.
The manga launches in Evening magazine in March 2020. The manga’s fifth volume will ship on October 21. The sixth and final volume will ship in February 2023.
Moritaka and Keiji Adachi’s baseball manga Gurazeni focuses on a baseball team that operates as a highly stratified society where a player’s performance determines his annual salary. The story follows an eight-year relief pitcher with a left-handed pitch named Natsunosuke Banba as he fights to survive within the team’s strict system.
Writer Moritaka and artist Adachi began publishing the series in 2010. The series ended in 2014 with 17 volumes, but the author launched a sequel manga Gurazeni: Tokyo Dome-hen that same year. Tokyo Dome-hen ended in February 2018, a new series titled Gurazeni: Pa League-hen premiered in March 2018.
The original manga inspired two television anime series, which premiered in April 2018 and October 2018.
