The April issue of Kodansha’s Kiss magazine published the final chapter of the manga My Lovesick Life as a ’90s Otaku by author Nico Nicholson on Saturday. The fourth and final volume of the manga will be released this May.
Publisher Kodansha USA licensed the manga and the company describes the story:
The otaku culture eventually became mainstream and Megumi couldn’t get used to it. Divorced and with a teenage daughter, Megumi fondly recalls her days as an anime and manga otaku—in 1995. That year, she transferred to a new school and decided to start her life anew by How to hide your otaku hobby. She finds herself sheltered by a basketball player named Masamune, who has a kind heart and looks like one of her favorite characters. But, even though Megumi caught a bit of fate in the moment, she was crushed when she learned that Masamune hates otaku…
Nicholson launched the My Lovesick Life as a ’90s Otaku manga in Kiss magazine in June 2021. Kodansha published the manga’s third volume in October 2022.
