The February issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Young magazine revealed on Monday that the manga The Witch and the Beast (Majo to Yajū) Kōsuke Satake’s show will be on hiatus due to Satake’s poor health. The manga will return in the magazine’s April issue on March 22.
Publisher Kodansha USA is publishing the manga in English and describes the story as follows:
Guideau: a wild girl with long fangs and wild beast eyes. Ashaf: a soft-spoken man with delicate features and a coffin on his back. One day, this ominous pair shows up in a town enslaved by a witch, who convinces the townspeople that she is their hero. But Ashaf and Guideau knew better. They have the capacity to deal with, and they will not hesitate to eliminate anyone who gets in their way…
Satake launched the manga in Kodansha’s Young Magazine on November 3, 2016. The series moves to Monthly Young Magazine in 2021. Kodansha published the manga’s tenth compiled book volume in August. 2022. Kodansha USA publisher released the ninth volume in English in August 2022.
Comic The Witch and the Beast is inspiring an upcoming anime adaptation.
