Kodoani.com – Houbunsha’s Weekly Manga Times magazine released a spin-off of the manga Tsuma, Shōgakusei ni Naru hay If my wife [became] an elementary school studentwith the name Hatsukoi Aite no Kimi wa Dare? (Who Are You, My First Love?) last Friday.
The story in the side story is about Takeru, a high school student who once had feelings for Marika, the reincarnated wife of the series, and is now an adult.
The series has become the inspiration for an anime scheduled to premiere in 2024.
Noriyuki Abe directs the anime at St.Signpost. Sawako Hirabayashi supervised and wrote the film’s script. Narihito Sekikawa will design the characters.
The main manga focuses on Keisuke Niijima, a man still suffering 10 years after the death of his wife, Takae. One day, an elementary school student came to his house and announced that she was Takae, reincarnated as another girl. Now Keisuke is trying to make up for lost time, while Takae, now an elementary school student, faces the thoughts of a woman in her 40s, trying to create situations to meet again. Keisuke.
Murata published a one-shot version of the manga in Weekly Manga Times in April 2018, before beginning serialization in July of the same year. The manga ended in December 2022, and Hobunsha published the manga’s 14th and final volume in March 2023.
The series inspired a live-action series that aired from January to March 2022.
