Maho Film produces anime based on yuin’s novel/manwha, mini about reincarnating surgeon
Kodoani.com – Kadokawa announced on Tuesday a new television anime series based on the manhwa web novel Surgeon Elise (Gekai Elise, or Oegwauisa Elise in Korean).

Kumiko Habara (I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss) is directing the anime at Maho Film. Deko Akao (Komi Can’t Communication) is handling the series layout. Yūko Watanabe is designing the characters.
The anime’s story follows Aoi Takamoto, who was once an evil queen named Elise before being executed by her husband Linden. When Elise was reincarnated into the modern world as Aoi, she became a surgeon to atone for her mistakes. However, after dying in a plane crash, she is once again reincarnated into her previous life as Elise, 10 years before her execution. She avoids marrying Linden around this time to prevent a tragedy. With her medical knowledge, she decided she wanted to become a doctor again in this life.
Yuin and mini made their manwha debut on KakaoPage in 2017. Tappytoon published the English version as Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp. The series ends in February 2021. There are a total of 10 volumes for the manwha and four volumes for the novel. Manwha’s seventh compiled book volume will be published in Japan in February 2022, and the eighth volume will be published on March 3.
