Kodoani.com – The official website for the TV anime adaptation of the manga Masamune-kun’s Revenge (Masamune-kun no Revenge) by Hazuki Takeoka and TV has launched a new TV commercial and visuals for Masamune-kun’s Revenge R (Masamune-kun no Revenge R), the show’s second season, on Friday. The trailer announces that the season’s premiere has been rescheduled to July 3.
The staff delayed the premiere of this season to July due to the spread of COVID-19. The anime was previously announced with a premiere in April before the production committee reviewed the production schedule.
The new cast for the anime’s second season includes Miku Itō as Muriel Besson and Yasuyuki Kase as Frank Besson. Ayaka Ohashi performed the opening theme song “Please, please!”
The television anime adaptation premiered in January 2017.
As an overweight child, Makabe Masamune was mercilessly teased and bullied by a special girl, Adagaki Aki. Determined to one day avenge her, Makabe begins a strict regimen of self-improvement and personal transformation.
Years later, Masamune reappears as a new guy. Handsome, popular, with perfect grades and good at sports, Masamune-kun transfers to Aki’s school and she’s unrecognizable. The manga launched in Ichijinsha’s Weekly Comic Rex magazine in 2012 and ended in June 2018. An anime disc (OAD) that Ichijinsha shipped with the manga’s 10th volume also tells a “story” later” for the manga. Manga released in July 2018.
The manga received a special chapter in August 2020 about Masamune and Aki set after the final chapter of the original manga.
Takeoka and Tiv launched the Masamune-kun no Revenge after school (Masamune-kun’s Revenge after school) spin-off manga in Monthly Comic Rex in September 2018 and ended in January 2019. Ichijinsha published the manga in Monthly Comic Rex. a volume compiled as “volume 11” of the manga in April 2019 and Seven Seas Entertainment published the volume in June 2020.
