Kodoani.com – Level 5 has broadcast a new clip of the game Megaton Musashi X (Cross) for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and now PlayStation 5 on Monday, where it also revealed the game’s new release date on December 16. The game was originally scheduled to release on that date. December 1, but was delayed to December 8.
The staff explained on the game’s website that the delay was due to a delay in the production of the Megaton-kyū Musashi anime. Since the content of the game is tied to the anime, a delay is necessary to adjust the game system.
The second season of the anime premiered on October 7 on Tokyo MX at 10:00 p.m. before airing on BS Fuji and Level 5’s YouTube channel. Special edition of the first season, featuring new cutscenes, premiered on July 8 on the same channel. The second part is a sequel to the Special Edition.
The game features new bosses, a giant war machine called Big Tank, and a new PvP Coliseum Battle game mode. The Coliseum Battle game mode features 3v3 PvP combat, where the player who deals the most damage to enemies is declared the MVP.
The first season of the anime premiered on Tokyo MX and BS Fuji in October 2021 and aired the final episode in December 2021.
The project includes an anime series, a game, a collaboration with Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine, a toy by Bandai, and an anime spin-off titled “After School”. Level-5 announced the project in 2016, initially with a tentative start date of summer 2017.
The story takes place after 90% of humanity was wiped out due to an invasion. The survivors live in a shelter where their lives are monitored and memories of the invasion are erased. Three teenagers from the shelter are chosen to control three machines that combine to form the robot Musashi, which is made of a material called Megatronium alloy. The series balances robot action with school life.
Each different medium—game, cartoon, or other medium—tells the story from the point of view of a different set of characters.
