Kod This year’s 12th issue of Hakusensha’s Hana to Yume magazine revealed on Friday that the manga Meitantei Kōko wa Yuutsu (Detective Kо̄ko is Melancholy) by Julietta Suzuki will end in the magazine’s next issue on June 3.
The series is set at the height of the Showa era, and revolves around a little girl named Kōko who is training to be a detective. She is hired by a famous family to find out who threatened to kill the family’s son Inugami, who currently lives in a dormitory in Tokyo. She eventually moves into the dorm to start her investigation, but she’s bad at cooking and even worse at figuring out where to start the case.
Suzuki published one volume of the manga in Hana to Yume in January 2020, before serializing the magazine in September 2020. Hakusensha published the manga’s fourth volume on February 18.
Suzuki launched the Kamisama Kiss manga in Hana to Yume in 2008, and ended the series in May 2016 with 25 volumes. Viz Media published the manga in English.
Kamisama Kiss has adapted for two anime seasons. The manga also inspired a series of four original anime DVDs (OADs) that shipped with volumes 22-25 of the manga. An “episode 25.5”, an official fanbook, was published in December 2016. The fanbook includes a DVD with the original anime and a 32-page epilogue manga.
