Manga launched in Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine in September 2017
Kodoani.com – This year’s 51st issue of Kodansha’s Weekly Young Magazine announced on Monday that the manga MF Ghost Shuuichi Shigeno will be on an indefinite hiatus due to Shigeno’s poor health. The magazine will announce when the manga returns at a later date.
Shigeno (Initial D) launched the MF Ghost manga in Weekly Young Magazine in September 2017. The compiled 15th volume was published in Japan on September 6.
The creator of Initial D is back on the track with another hit! In the near future, when most cars have switched to using permanent energy, internal combustion engine races are rare. The MFG is the last major race for this dying breed, and half-Japanese Kanata Rivington is back to try her luck. But that’s not all he came to Japan to do…he’s also looking for his father. Can even the ambitious Kanata accomplish all he sets out to do?
The manga is adapting an anime that will premiere in 2023.
Shigeno ended her Initial D manga in Weekly Young Magazine in July 2013. Tokyopop published the first part of the manga in North America, and Kodansha USA Publishing and Comixology are offering the complete manga in English. The manga has inspired several television anime, a live-action film, several original anime projects, and a successful game line. The manga recently inspired an anime trilogy, the third of which debuted in February 2016.
