Minecraft will never release NFT.
“NFT is not something that we will support or allow in this game,” a spokesperson for the developer Mojang, the creator of Minecraft, stated in the latest statement.
Explaining this point of view, Mòjang said the company’s constant principle is to ensure that Minecraft is an open community where everyone has equal access to the same content. Meanwhile, the nature of NFT is exclusivity, uniqueness and scarcity, which goes against the developer’s original. So NFT will definitely never have a place in the Minecraft world.
“To ensure that Minecraft players have a safe and inclusive experience, blockchain technology is not allowed to be integrated inside our client and server applications. At the same time, it should not be used as a game content, including anything like worlds, skins, personal items or mods… Every action that uses blockchain technology to create unique digital assets (NFTs) in Minecraft are prohibited,” Mojang announced.
Mojang went on to warn about the unreliability of the NFT. They can cause many players to lose large amounts of property. For example, a Minecraft clone called Blockverse stole more than $1.2 million from players after its NFT release in January 2022.
Mojang said that the majority of their players are children and adolescents, so it is the responsibility of the game developer to protect gamers to the end. This client file has absolutely no knowledge or responsibility to participate in things like NFT.
