Summary
All Might’s role as the Symbol of Peace and the most inspirational hero gives his words more weight than anyone else in the series. With the classic work “Just believe in yourself and you can become a hero” All Might inspired Midoriya to believe in himself. “There is nothing nobler than self-sacrifice” perfectly represents All Might’s ideals.
My Hero Academy is an extremely popular series with some extremely popular characters, but there is one that stands out among the rest: All possible. “The symbol of peace”, All Might is a powerful figure in the world of the series and his words carry much more weight than anyone’s.
All Might is the former holder of One For All and mentor to the series’ protagonist, Izuku Midoriya. Because of his status as the Number One Hero and Symbol of Peace, he has made several inspirational quotes when giving advice and inspiration to Midoriya and the other heroes.
10 “The dream wasn’t bad…”
Season 1, Episode 2: “What It Takes to Be a Hero”
While this quote may seem mean at first, it’s actually solid advice from the Number One Hero. With this quote, All Might advises people to dream but also to “consider what is realistic”. Some things are impossible. In that very scene, All Might advises Midoriya to choose a more realistic goal than becoming a hero, as he believes that a person without a gift cannot become a hero. However, this quote has a good point in its message: Don’t dream so big that your dreams become unrealistic.
9 “Just believe in yourself and you can be a hero.”
Season 1, Episode 2: “What It Takes to Be a Hero”
One For All is a My Hero Academia Quirk with infinite potential that can be passed down through generations. And with this quote, All Might helps his successor understand that he can also become a hero. This is a fairly typical saying of heroes and can be found everywhere in real life. The power of belief is strong, and after crushing Midoriya’s dream earlier, All Might told him that he too could become a hero, as long as he believed in it. was just the first step in the pair’s relationship, and he set Midoriya on the path to inherit One For All from All Might to become a hero like his idol.

8 “I will protect your son, even if it costs me my life.”
Season 3, Episode 12: “The End of the Beginning, the Beginning of the End”
After constant attacks from the League of Villains, the students at UA are moved to live in dormitories. Unfortunately, Midoriya’s mother doesn’t want him back. All Might himself pledged to Midoriya’s mother to protect him at all costs, even bowed before her to show his dedication to his goal. This quote especially resonated with fans because at this point, All Might had lost all of his power, leaving him weak and feeble. The fact that All Might was this weak but still vowed to protect Midoriya was enough to move Midoriya’s mother to allow All Might to continue training him.
7 “The most inflated egos are often the most fragile.”
Season 1, Episode 8: “Bakugo’s Starting Round”
Bakugo is clearly one of the bravest characters in MHA, but with that bravery comes a huge ego, leading to this famous quote from All Might. However, he knew that with a little advice and support, he could do better. 6 “There is nothing nobler than self-sacrifice.”
Season 1, Episode 4: “The Starting Line”
With the ultimate sacrifice of his power in the battle against All For One, All Might’s quote here about self-sacrifice actually makes sense. Although this is a statement that is mostly said in his head, All Might makes this comment after watching Midoriya face off against the large robot during the UA exams at the beginning of the series. Realizing that this was the kind of self-sacrifice any hero would be willing to make, All Might became more confident than ever. he has chosen a suitable successor for One for All, and it was this move that finally brought Midoriya into UA.
5 “I smile … to deceive my fear.”
My Hero Academia Manga, Chapter 1
One of the most iconic things about All Might is his constant smile despite nearly hopeless situations. But this statement makes everyone realize that behind that smile is real fear. Even though All Might has enough power to defeat people like Homelander, he is still afraid of losing and not being able to save the people he swore to protect. Despite this fear, he always smiles happily to the public so as not to show that the strongest hero on the planet is scared. This type of quote tells the audience what kind of person All Might is.
4 “Heroes have many things to protect. That’s why we can’t lose.”
Season 3, Episode 11: “One for All.”
It’s quotes like these that show All Might’s determination to defeat evil to save people, and it’s advice like this that makes him a great mentor. All Might understands that if the hero loses, humans will die, maybe even people the heroes care about. That’s why failure is not an option for heroes. This quote also shows why All Might tries his best to win against the villains he fights. He is truly the mightiest being alive, and if he loses, then no one else can win and save the world.
3 “You can always get ahead…”
Season 1, Episode 8: “Bakugo’s Starting Round.”
While All Might was still new to teaching at UA, he gave some much-needed advice to Bakugo. After his first match with Midoriya, Bakugo was stunned to learn that his old friend could defeat him. Basically, All Might offers the quote “You can always move forward by learning from experience” as an encouragement to Bakugo. Tell him to learn from his failures so he can strive to become even better. It proves to be a fundamental starting point for Bakugo in his journey to becoming the Number One Hero.

Season 1, Episode 12: “All Might.”
Far beyond plus polarity is one of the quotes from All Might that Midoriya idolizes the most, making it one of his most famous lines. The best use of this quote is the scene where All Might fights Nomu in the training facility. Fueled by a final burst of motivation, All Might uttered this sentence to Nomu before doing exactly what he said he would do: go beyond the extreme. All Might’s final punch sent Nomu flying off the roof of the arena and far away, putting an end to one of the best arcs in My Hero Academia.
1 “It’s okay now. Why? Because I’m here.”
Season 1, Episode 1: “Izuku Midoriya: Origins.”
This line is probably one of All Might’s most repeated phrases in the entire series, but that continues to mark it as one of his best quotes. Saying this to the public when he rushes in to save them from villains makes bystanders feel at ease, knowing that the Number One Hero is there to save the world and keep all safe.
