My Hero Academia announces a new spin-off by Yoco Akiyama in the upcoming issue #35 of Shonen Jump. The 16-page spin-off titled 'Connect to the Day' will be released before the final chapter of the series. Fans can look forward to getting a spin-off featuring Horikoshi's assistant Akiyama before My Hero Academia ends.
My Hero Academia has announced a brand new spin-off ahead of the final chapter, paving the way for the epic conclusion of the series in the best possible way. While fans aren't ready to give up on the series just yet, My Hero Academia is fast approaching its final chapter and the upcoming spin-off could be the perfect consolation.
According to a post on WSJ_manga's X, My Hero Academia will be getting a new spin-off by Yoco Akiyama in issue #35 of Shonen Jump, which will be released next week on Monday, July 29. The spin-off is titled Connect to the Day and will be 16 pages long.
Not much has been revealed yet about the content of the spin-off or what the plot will revolve around, but hopefully this spin-off will allow fans to enjoy the series for a while longer before the final chapter of My Hero Academia comes out.
My Hero Academia announces final spin-off
The upcoming spin-off will be directed by Kohei Horikoshi's assistant.
The upcoming spin-off will be created by Horikoshi's assistant Yoco Akiyama, who has also been in charge of many of the series' previous spin-offs such as Endeavor's Mission and Deku & Bakugo: Rising. It's hard to guess what the spin-off's story will be based on the title alone, but needless to say, this spin-off is in safe hands.
That said, hopefully this short side story won't be the last of My Hero Academia and could be turned into an alternative spin-off series. With less than two chapters left until the end of the series, My Hero Academia still has a lot of unresolved details beyond the main cast. Not to mention, Kohei Horikoshi has created a vibrant world over the past few years that makes the series ripe for a spin-off series.
Even though Deku and Class 1-A have reached a resolution, there are still a lot of interesting characters—heroes and villains—whose stories are waiting to be told, and hopefully Horikoshi won't want the series to end as much as the fans. Still, it'll be interesting to see what My Hero Academia's coming soon.
My Hero Academia Available on Manga Plus and Viz Media.
