The following contains spoilers for My Hero Academia Season 6, currently streaming on Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Hulu.

The action-packed first session of Season Six of My Hero Academia is finally coming to an end and with it the ending of the Mystical Liberation War. The full-blown clash marked the series’ first large-scale conflict and forced its relatively young central cast to mature much faster in 13 episodes than they’ve had since their inception. head.

Both heroes and villains suffer heavy losses in the fight for the future of heroic society, but some turn out to be more remarkable than others. Here are the most tragic deaths to date in Season 6 and their effect on the entire story.

Killed twice to prevent the war from escalating further

Twice’s Double Quirk makes him one of the most dangerous members of the Criminal Alliance. In fact, before the war began, the Hawks were keeping a close eye on him as part of his undercover investigations. The duo forged an unlikely friendship but unfortunately met a fateful end when war began and they had to declare an alliance.

As a Pro Hero, Hawks cannot sit idly by and let Twice overwhelm his fighting teammates. On the other hand, Twice couldn’t see the heroes wiping out the Alliance as Sad Man’s Parade had the ability to easily stop them. This stalemate made their brief battle emotionally heavy, and Twice’s death made it all much heavier.

Shigaraki Tomura killed X-Less on a destructive whim

The primary goal of the Jaku Hospital invasion group is to prevent Shigaraki Tomura from being awakened prematurely from the pupa that is supposed to empower him. After fighting through several High-End Nomu, the heroes finally breathed a sigh of relief when the Present Mic broke the tube in which Shigaraki was hibernating and the villain fell, presumably dead.

Thinking their job was over, the Professional Heroes put the X-Less in charge of Shigaraki’s “corpse”. Unfortunately, a stray volt turned out to be the last kick that brought Shigaraki back to life. His first business order? To kill the unlucky hero who was left alone to watch over him.

Crust Sacrifices His Life to Save Eraserhead’s

Crust started to make a name for himself from the very beginning of the war. He bravely coordinated the heroes in his vicinity and took down one of the high-ranking Nomu almost alone. He seemed poised to be one of the breakout stars of My Hero Academia in Season 6 – but that all changed when Shigaraki was awakened.

When the villain moves, he unleashes a wave of destruction with his Quirk Decay, forcing all the heroes in Jaku Hospital to retreat or lose their lives. As Eraserhead clung to Ryukyu’s wings to escape the wave of death, one of the surviving Nomu suddenly reached out and grabbed his leg, threatening to drag the 1-A homeroom teacher into oblivion. Crust quickly appeared with a sharp scale and severed Nomu’s arm before Eraserhead was injured. Unfortunately, the momentary delay was all it took for Shigaraki’s Decay to catch up to Crust, and he collapsed dead shortly after.

Midnight devoted himself to fighting against Gigantomachia

Shigaraki’s awakening in Season 6 is quickly followed by the appearance of Gigantomachia. As soon as the heroes saw him, they knew that the giant had to be defeated immediately or the fight would become invincible. Midnight was one of the first heroes to take decisive action against the giant monster. Noticing the brute force approach of Mt. Lady yielded minimal results, Midnight chose to use his Somnambulist powers to put him to sleep instead.

It was a great strategy but unfortunately cut short as Midnight had no way of knowing the Criminal Alliance was supporting Gigantomachia from his back. Before she can activate her Quirk, Mr. Compress obstructed Midnight’s path with some well-arranged debris, causing her to fall from a great height. Before she died from her injuries, Midnight relayed her plans to subjugate Gigantomachia to Class 1-A’s Momo Yaoyorozu, who ensured that her death was not in vain.

Majestic ensures that everyone else survives Gigantomachia’s rampage

Majestic’s ability to fly is the perfect tool to bring heroes into the battle that Class 1-A is losing to Gigantomachia. He brought much-needed reinforcements to the students and continued the fight that Midnight had entrusted to Yaoyorozu. The more powerful his combined cavalry was, the stronger was Gigantomachia’s devotion to Shigaraki, and they couldn’t hold him back for long.

With the last of her strength, Majestic pulled all the heroes out of Gigantomachia’s path, preventing them from being trampled underfoot. He’s a truly selfless hero who, before facing the death he just saved 1-A from, reassured them that the decisions they made were right; It was not their fault that Gigantomachia escaped.

Mr. Compress ensures that the Criminal Union escapes

After Shigaraki collapsed from the overwhelming wound he received while fighting the heroes, the situation took a turn for the worse. Before long, all the members of the Criminal Alliance were stuck in the threads of Best Jeanist and it seemed that My Hero Academia’s war was finally over. Enter Mr. Compress, escape the extraordinary artist.

By using his Quirk on himself, he was able to break free of Best Jeanist’s bondage and quickly steal the rest of the Alliance. He focused the heroes’ attention on him and gave the Spinner enough time to revive Shigaraki. The newly awakened Demon Lord quickly summoned several Nomu to drive away the rest of the Alliance, ensuring that they would survive to fight another day thanks to Mr. Compress.

Many brave heroes are seriously injured in the MHA’s mystical liberation war

Although their injuries were not serious, some MHA heroes were completely decommissioned before the war ended. Immediately after fighting Twice, the Hawks were confronted by Toya Todoroki’s raging flames and suffered severe burns before being rescued by Fumikage Tokoyami. Mirko faced several High Nomu on her own, completely annihilating a few of them as a one-woman army and delaying Shigaraki’s awakening for a few precious minutes.

Eraserhead, Gran Torino, and Ryukyu were all personal targets of Shigaraki in the heroes’ final battle against him. Their wounds are bittersweet feats, for they are judged by the greatest villain ever to be threats worthy of immediate elimination. Fortunately, these brave heroes appear to be in various stages of recovery and will return to the story of My Hero Academia in the future.
