My Hero Academia 377 paints a very bleak picture for the future of heroic society, but surprising allies ensure the fight continues.
The following contains the key revelations for My Hero Academia Chapter 377, “The Chain So Far”, by Horikoshi Kohei, Caleb Cook and John Hunt, available now in English from Viz Media.
Kurogiri’s newfound freedom is continuing to be a thorn in the side of heroes as All For One hopes. In just a few minutes, Warp Gate users reversed much of the progress Pro-Heroes had made so far in the war and spread chaos across various battlefields.
After reuniting Endeavor and Toya Todoroki at the ruins of Gunga Mansion, Kurogiri turned his attention to the floating UA fortress.
My Hero Academia 377 Put the heroes of UA in jeopardy
Kurogiri teleported the Present Mic directly into the observatory from which Neito Monoma, Eraserhead, and Manual took All For One’s Quirks hostage using the Erasure Quirk. He brought along clones of Toga that had turned into Twice, and they wasted no time surrounding Monoma, pinning the student to the ground and forcing him to cut eye contact with All For One. Never shirking her duties, Monoma prevents herself from blinking for as long as possible, but without moisturizing her eyes, closing them is inevitable.
The effect of removing Erasure is pretty obvious. Just as Monoma blinked, there was a violent explosion from All For One that shook the entire structure. The war-supporting heroes from the UA’s underworld were the first to understand its full meaning, when they realized that a vital power line had been completely destroyed. Their main task of restoring the lands destroyed when the heroes fought Shigaraki was now impossible. With Shigaraki now able to use his Quirk Decay, it was almost certain that all those trapped underground would be doomed to perdition.
Worse still, Skeptic ended up infiltrating the system that was keeping the entire UA campus running at that unfortunate time. He quickly began to readied himself to submerge the entire structure into the ocean below, including All For One. The situation of the heroes had never been so dire, and the terrible chain of events that Kurogiri had caused seemed to decide the war once and for all, until things calmed down a bit.
Light in the end of tunnel
Deku finally halted bombarding Shigaraki with hypersonic Gear Shift attacks, and In a moment of silence, One For All’s second user made an astute telepathic observation. Deku’s Overdrive boom forced Quiz All For One to resonate with One For All. This reveals to him that Shigaraki isn’t close to reaching his full power the way he does for his hoax explosion, and that he is, in fact, still having trouble identifying. whether he or All For One should take control of their joint body.
A long-forgotten enemy turned ally also unexpectedly reappears to lend his tech expertise to the UA heroes. Gentle Criminal’s assistant La Brava and the entire production team took it upon themselves to purge Skeptic from UA’s computer system. Her alliance with the heroes is as surprising as it is with the relative ease with which she surpasses her senior. At the moment, La Brava’s motives aren’t so clear, but she seems to see supporting the heroes as a duty in service to her true idol, Gentle Criminal. Right now at least, no one asked her about it.
