Ameri and Hayase had to do more than go through the motions with the shojo manga as their point of reference. They can’t live up to some fictional heroine’s romance and expect to find real happiness with the real boys in their lives. At most, those shojo heroines can spur Hayase and Ameri to become brave, real-life heroines and take the first step in their own love story where anything goes. may happen. After all, shojo heroines, like most fictional protagonists, grow up as humans and discover new sides of themselves that only they can find on their own.
