Kodoani.com – Kadokawa has just confirmed that the second season of the television anime My Happy Marriage (Watashi no Shiawase na Kekkon), adapted from the famous light novel series by Akumi Agitogi and Tsukiho Tsukioka, will officially air globally on Netflix on May 1. January 6, 2024. This release date coincides with the anime airing on television channels in Japan, including Tokyo MX, BS11, KBS Kyoto, Sun TV and TV Aichi. For AT-X viewers, the anime will air the next day, January 7.
The return of My Happy Marriage is not only expected by fans but is also a testament to the outstanding success of the first season, which debuted in July 2023 with 12 episodes.
The first season made its mark thanks to the touching story revolving around the journey to find happiness of Miyo Saimori – an unfortunate girl rejected by her family – and Kiyoka Kudou, a famous cold-hearted military officer. From their initial forced relationship, the love between them has become a guiding light, helping them heal past hurts.
In this second season, the anime series will continue to be produced by the studio Kinema Citruswhich was responsible for the first season. Remarkable, Masayuki Kojimawho made his mark by drawing the script and directing the episode in the previous part, will collaborate with the director Takehiro Kubota to direct the entire project. The script has the participation of Ami Satōthe main supervisor, along with a talented team of writers including Misato Hashiba, Fūka Ishii and Momoka Toyoda. In particular, Shōko Yasuda will continue to take on the role of character designer, promising to maintain the sophisticated visual style that is the highlight of the anime.
Not stopping there, the anime also expanded the content through a special OVA titled “Shiawase no Katachi” (The Shape of Happiness), released with the eighth novel volume on April 1. March 15, 2024. Previously, OVA had an impressive debut on online platforms that day November 22, 2023on the occasion of “Good Couples Day” in Japan. This side story continues to further explore the relationship between Miyo and Kiyoka, bringing the audience more sweet and touching moments.
