A promotional video for Yoshihiro Togashi’s PUZZLE exhibition reunites two fan-favorite voice actors from the 2011 Hunter x Hunter anime.
A new trailer from Jump Comics reunites two of Hunter x Hunter’s fan-favorite voice actors.
Posted on Jump’s official YouTube channel, the promotional video features the voices of Daisuke Namikawa and Mamoru Miyano, reprising their roles as Hisoka and Chrollo from the 2011 anime adaptation of Hunter x Hunter. A two-line exchange from Yoshihiro Togashi’s manga, promoting its 37th volume, lists its return to Weekly Shonen Jump after a four-year hiatus. The trailer also promotes the manga artist’s PUZZLE exhibition, which has been running at the Mori Art Center Gallery in Tokyo since October 2022, showcasing drawings and manuscripts from a group of mystical works dialogue includes series such as Hunter x Hunter and Yu-Yu Hakusho.
Although Hunter x Hunter has continued to operate for two months in 2022, it is currently on hiatus again due to Togashi’s health difficulties. The cartoonist suffered from a chronic back problem that resulted in the series being halted several times, including a two-year break from 2014 to 2016, followed by another year shortly after 2018. The current episode is different from previous episodes, as Togashi announced that he was continuing to draw the series, but he and publisher Shonen Jump decided against the weekly serialization format, which has become a schedule unfeasible given his current condition.
A recent tweet by Togashi sheds more light on how much of an impact his condition had on the production. In addition to hiring more staff to assist him, the creator drew the sheets down because his hip and back problems were severe enough to keep him from sitting in a chair. As a result, much of the ongoing PUZZLE exhibition in Tokyo consists of previous works collected to celebrate the 35th anniversary of his debut as a manga artist, starting with a humorous short story in 2016. 1986 Sensēha Toshishita!!
Of all the works in Togashi’s long career, Hunter x Hunter is arguably the most popular, with it being serialized and broadcast in Weekly Shonen Jump starting in 1998. The series follows the character. It was the pre-adolescent Gon Freecss, who left his island home in search of his absent father and followed in his footsteps by becoming a Hunter. Since its debut, Gon’s story has received two separate anime adaptations in 1999 and 2011, as well as two feature films and even a musical adaptation made in 2000.
Volume 37 of the manga does not yet have an English release date, but previous volumes are available on Viz Media. The 2011 anime is available to stream on Crunchyroll.
