Kodoani.com – Shibai Kineko announced on Twitter on Monday that the novel And you thought there is never a girl online (Netoge no Yome wa Onna no ko ja Nai to Omotta?) will end with the 22nd volume as part of Dengeki Bunko’s 30th anniversary project. Dengeki Bunko listed the new episode as “coming soon.”
Kineko launched the series with illustrations by Hisasi in 2013, and the 21st volume was published in Japan in April 2020.
The story revolves around Hideki Nishimura, a guy who confesses to someone he thinks is a girl online, but that person turns out to be a boy. The guy keeps this “black history” a secret and vows never to trust a “girl” online again. However, one day, an online girl confessed to the guy, and it turned out that she was actually a beautiful girl named Ako Tamaki. Ako cannot tell the difference between the virtual world and reality, and she is a loner who has difficulty communicating. Hideki and his guild mates decide to work together to “correct” her.
The novel inspired an anime series in 2016.
Kazui Ishigami launched a manga adaptation in Dengeki G’s Comic in August 2014 and ended it in September 2018. The manga’s eighth and final volume was published in Japan in November. 2018.
