We’ve all seen it in anime and manga before: a giant, cylindrical piece of meat with a white bone in the center—it’s all about wanting you to grab it and eat it. Since it looks so delicious, it’s always been a real pity that it was purely fictional – or at least until now. With Manga Meat Bone, you can also cook meat at home that looks like it’s ripped from the page.
Handcrafted by Seto artisans in Japan’s Aichi prefecture, this ceramic bone is specially designed to recreate the classic image in all its edible glory. Just take the bones, wrap some ground beef around, wrap it in bacon, and pop it in the oven for a delicious meal. Since it’s oven-safe, you can also use bones to create similar-looking breads or pastries in addition to many possible meat dishes.
At 26 centimeters (10.2 inches) long, Manga Meat Bone comes in two colors: pure white and a more lifelike ivory with lighter highlights at the edges. Furthermore, it is specially designed to create subsurface cracks over time, making it look more like real bone.
The Meat Bone manga retails for 5,500 yen ($43) and can be purchased on au PAY Market, SmaSmaSweets, Amazon.co.jp, Rakuten, and Yahoo Shopping.
