The latest chapter reveals the shocking betrayal of Dr. Vegapunk gave Bonney a most dangerous power that could redefine her role in the series going forward.
Chapter #1106 of One Piece revealed Bonney has been given command of the Pacifista, with Vegapunk confessing that he had given Bonney the highest authority in the chain of command, even higher than the Five Elders. In this chapter, Bonney begs the Pacifista not to shoot and help them escape the island, after which the Pacifista becomes confused and starts attacking the Marines instead.
Vegapunk later revealed that he made this emotional decision because he could not bear to see Bonney killed like her father or Kuma harming the girl he loved so much. Needless to say, Vegapunk’s decision giving Bonney control of the entire Pacifista army will have major consequences but will most likely be the key to escaping the Buster Call on Egghead.

Bonney’s newfound power in controlling the Pacifista further changes the tide against the Marines at the same time making Bonney the most wanted individual on Egghead. The Pacifista form a large part of the Navy’s strength and, along with the Seraphim, are powerful enough to warrant the replacement of the Seven Warlords. Therefore, removing Bonney to restore power to the Five Elders will definitely be a top priority.
Furthermore, Vegapunk also implies that Bonney can command not only the Pacifista but also any units created in the likeness of Kuma, which means Bonney could most likely also command S-BearSeraphim is modeled after Kuma. Bonney can also command the original Kuma in case he still does not possess his willpower, although the latest chapters have implied otherwise about Kuma using Haki against Saint Saturn.

Since Bonney never intended to become a pirate and set sail just to find Kuma, it is unclear what conclusion her story will reach. However, her chemistry with Luffy and Chopper, along with her current precarious situation, suggests Joining the Straw Hats might be the safest path for Bonney, as the Emperor’s crew would provide the best protection against the World Government.
Anyway, the latest chapter of A piece signaling a decisive turning point in the Egghead arc.
