For the longest time, fans were under the impression that Carrot would become a member of Strawhat. And there’s a reason they claim it. The weasel constantly appears in all of Strawhat’s scenes.
It seems like Oda sensei is slowly pushing her towards the crew, getting us fans used to her cheerful and adventurous personality.
However, with Carrot becoming the new leader of the Minks, it’s confirmed that she won’t be a Mugiwara.
Instead, we have Yamato. Honestly, the majority of fans prefer Yamato over Carrot. Eccentric personality, plot and connection to Ace – Yamato is simply a much more interesting character.
Not to mention that there is so much to discover about her. Maybe we’ll get a bounty of straws.
When will Yamato join the Straw Hats?
Even now, we see that Yamato hasn’t joined yet. In the latest chapter, she stands on top of the castle. Meanwhile, Luffy has decided to leave and the Thousand Sunny will soon leave Wano.
Luffy didn’t say goodbye to Momo and Kinemon. That’s probably because he considers them his teammates, just like Vivi. What we want to see is, does he see Yamato as a crewmate? However, the fact that he nicknamed her is a good sign.
Yamato wanted to join Ace and that dream went up in smoke. And now, that opportunity has returned once again in the form of Ace’s younger brother. Also, with Kaido removed from the photo, Yamato has nothing to hold her back.
It’s finally time for Kaido’s son to spread his wings. In One Piece 1057, we expect a change. With the same determination to live as Oden, Yamato would probably run towards them at full speed and board the train. And with that, the Straw Hats will move to the next island.
Does Yamato’s participation make sense?
Every time a straw hat joins the team, there’s a reason behind it. Let us review. Zoro was his first mate – back then Luffy wanted someone he liked to join him. Then there was Nami, whose navigational skills were invaluable.
Following that, there is Usopp, who helped them in the Kurahadol plot. And then Sanji comes in to fill the chef void, while Chopper joins in as the doctor. We’ve seen Robin get involved and develop a huge attachment to them.
Franky fills the shipbuilder’s void. Brook arrives as the crew’s long-awaited musician. And then, Jinbe, who saved Luffy, joined the crew, and was loved by everyone. Finally, we have Yamato. The crew doesn’t really need her to fill some vacancies.
Yamato is needed in the crew due to her emotional attachment and ambition. She wanted to get rid of Kaido and she did. Luffy knows that she is cool and trustworthy. And then her promise to Ace.
So yes, Yamato’s participation makes a lot of sense. And it was Luffy who said that he wanted at least 10 members of his crew. Guess what, Yamato will be the 10th member of the crew and we love it. Hope that One Piece chapter 1057 will be the official chapter where she becomes a Stranger.
