The power hierarchy in One Piece is facing many problems. Pirates were constantly vying for status, countries were overthrown in the blink of an eye, and there was even a rivalry within the World Government.

Given the turmoil unfolding in the work, it’s not too surprising that some characters lack respect for their leader.

Whether resisting or ignoring orders, these individuals have become famous in the eyes of the audience for their actions against the organization. Some have good reasons while others display arrogance and selfishness to the point of losing reason.

The following article of VietOtaku will only name the faces who are not afraid to oppose the leader in One Piece.

Arlong opposes Fisher Tiger empathizing with humans

Arlong opposes Fisher Tiger empathizing with humans

Arlong was once a member of the Sun Pirates, he and his teammates roamed the seas with the goal of improving relations with humans. However, Arlong disobeyed Captain Fisher Tiger’s principles and vehemently opposed them.

With this name, humans are always inferior to mermaids. So the fact that the mermaids were enslaved was a great insult to his dignity.

After Tiger’s death, Arlong granted his wish by splitting the crew and attacking many areas inhabited by humans. Although he was imprisoned in Impel Down, but that was not enough to curb his aggression.

Smoker and the G-5 Marines act on instinct

Smoker and the G-5 Marines act on instinct

Smoker’s G-5 unit consisted of prisoners who were reformed and turned into marines. So it is not surprising that they show disrespect to the Government. Even so, these soldiers still had to fulfill all the orders of their superiors in the New World.

However, Smoker often acted against orders from the Government. Although he was on the hunt for Luffy, he helped the Straw Hats escape from Alabasta.

Even Smoker indirectly protected Luffy from Doflamingo’s pursuit. Perhaps after Luffy’s actions at Punk Hazard, he realized that Luffy is not a bad person that deserves to be arrested.

Blackbeard betrays anyone to achieve his goal

Blackbeard betrays anyone to achieve his goal

It can be affirmed that, Blackbeard has never respected anyone but himself. While aboard the Whitebeard ship, he murdered Captain Thatch to steal the Yami Yami no Mi Devil Fruit.

When Ace pursued him for punishment, Blackbeard protested and captured him as a commodity in exchange for treatment from the World Government.

However, once again he showed a cunning face. Instead of cooperating, Teach stole a navy warship to access Impel Down. After successfully breaking in, he recruited the most dangerous prisoners to join his pirate crew.

It is Blackbeard’s distorted personality that makes him the most dangerous and unpredictable villain in the work.

Hannyabal covets Magellan’s position as warden

Hannyabal covets Magellan's position as warden

Originally Hannyabal held the position of deputy warden of Impel Down. However, this character wants to usurp Magellan’s position so much that he is willing to free the prisoners to get his superiors demoted or fired.

Although he could not stop Luffy, Hannyabal still proved himself to be a general who protects the base at all costs. He was rewarded for his work after the riot and was eventually given the title of Magellan.

An interesting fact is, Hannyabal may not be as strong as his predecessor, but he could spend more time patrolling the floors because he does not suffer from chronic constipation like Magellan.

Crocodile abused the authority of the Shichibukai

Crocodile abused the authority of the Shichibukai

Similar to Blackbeard, Crocodile used the title of Shichibukai for his own purposes. He showed disrespect to the Government by indirectly launching an attack against King Cobra in Alabasta, all due to the lack of water he caused.

Since Alabasta is a kingdom affiliated with the World Government, the navy cannot interfere in the country’s internal affairs. This made them useless people who could only stand by and watch Crocodile wreak havoc on this innocent nation.

In addition, the former Shichibukai also disliked the Cross Guild commander when he directly threatened Buggy’s life.

Sanji ignores every man in the world

Sanji ignores every man in the world

Sanji does not respect all men even though they are powerful figures. This is demonstrated when he is not afraid to scold and punish Captain Luffy for being clumsy.

More notably, Sanji attacked his captain to the point where Luffy almost passed out during the Cake Island Arc. However, this action does not denounce Sanji’s disrespect to the captain because he has difficult reasons to say.

In addition, Sanji did not show any respect for his powerful father Vinsmoke Judge when he directly hit him with a fatal blow.

He even showed a condescending attitude to boss Zeff on the Baratie ship many times. However, this is the restaurant’s “uniquely aggressive” culture and it does not come from real malice.

Fujitora disobeys Government orders in Dressrosa

Fujitora disobeys Government orders in Dressrosa

Fujitora’s strength and righteousness is an obstacle to the World Government in the Dressrosa Arc. After Doflamingo’s defeat, he refused to cover up his actions to protect the lord and bowed to the people to accept all the blame.

By broadcasting all happenings in Dressrosa, this Admiral made the Five Elders completely silent despite possessing a lot of power.

Because of that, Akainu was so angry that he did not allow Fujitora to set foot on any naval bases until he captured the Straw Hats. After helping Luffy and his crew escape, he happily endured all the consequences.

Orochi has the ambition to overthrow the Kozuki dynasty

Orochi has the ambition to overthrow the Kozuki dynasty

As a member of the Kurozumi clan, Orochi has been hunted since childhood. Instead of fighting off his pursuers, he poured his hatred towards the Kozuki clan’s reign and made it his life’s mission to destroy them.

While Oden sailed into the world, Orochi devised a scheme to usurp the position of Shogun Wano. When Oden returned, it was also the time when the Beasts Pirates gathered all their forces in Wano to join forces with Orochi to take over this country.

Hatred clouded Orochi’s reason and made him want to take revenge on all the people of Wano.

Usopp challenges Luffy

Usopp challenges Luffy

Since leaving Syrup village until now, Usopp has constantly teased Luffy and acted as if he were the captain of the Straw Hats.

Although the crew members often see this as a joke, Usopp’s disrespect for the captain goes beyond the limits of Arc Water 7 when he tries to save the Going Merry.

Instead of following the captain’s orders, Usopp left the crew himself and even challenged Luffy to a duel for the right to decide on the ship. This action stems from his insecurity because he considers himself useless and can be replaced at any time.

Garp does not accept serving the Heavenly Dragons

Garp does not accept serving the Heavenly Dragons

Garp’s relationship with the navy is complicated. Although known as Dragon’s father and Luffy’s grandfather, he still became a “maritime hero” thanks to many glorious feats.

As a character that ranks on par with the strength of Pirate King Roger and Whitebeard, Garp has been nominated for the position of Admiral of the Navy many times. However, he flatly refused because he did not want to serve the Celestial Dragons.

What Garp didn’t realize was that as a member of the Government, he was bound to obey any orders from the Celestial Dragons. If Garp’s disrespect was discovered, it was very likely that he would experience the heaviest punishments from his superiors.
