It looks like a new voice actor has joined the cast of One Piece. Recent reports have suggested the anime is looking for new talent to voice Dragon, Luffy’s mysterious father and leader of the Revolutionary Army.
Now, that search is over and the Dragon character has been revived once again. One Piece reintroduced Dragon to the screen after many years of absence, and Kazuhiro Inoue, best known for his role as Kakashi, was chosen to voice the sailor.
Inoue, 69 years old, will take over the role of Dragon from Hidekatsu Shibata, who turns 87 later this month.

Shibata, best known for his roles as Hiruzen Sarutobi in Naruto and Igneel in Fairy Tail, has gradually stepped back from his roles in recent years. Now, Inoue steps into Dragon’s shoes, adding another iconic character to his extensive resume.
Although Inoue is best known for his role as Kakashi in Naruto, his career spans various anime titles, including JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure and Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba. Now, he brings his talents to the world of One Piece.
In terms of portraying Dragon, the character is as formidable as ever. He returns in the Egghead Island arc of One Piece through a flashback, revealing a surprising connection to Dr. Vegapunk.
For those eager to delve deeper into their shared history, the One Piece anime is currently available to stream on Hulu, Crunchyroll, and Netflix.
