Marshall D. Teach, famous around the world as Pirate Blackbeard, shows no mercy to Trafalgar D. Water Law in One Piece Episode 1093.
After being pushed back for a recap, One Piece Episode 1093 proved to be worth the one-week delay. Continuing the strong performance of the “Egghead” storyline, the latest episode features many outstanding animations by Toei Animation’s top animators. Lead animator Vincent Chansard – who previously animated Law in Episode 957 of the “Wano Country” arc – once again teams up with storyboard artist Katsumi Ishizuka for the highly anticipated battle between the two ships pirate chief.

Of course, Chansard and Ishizuka didn’t just work exclusively on the latest episode of One Piece. Henry Thurlow, the first American animator to direct a One Piece episode at Toei Animation, directed the episode’s flashbacks. He is joined by online artist Anno (@/Anno_RG on social media site X), who contributed to the episode. Episode 1093 also marked the debut of animator Eric Terlato.
As if taking down Blackbeard and Law wasn’t enough to whet fans’ appetites, One Piece Episode 1093 also contains another highly anticipated moment that manga readers have been dying to see adapted: Law’s gender transition. For those who are confused, while diving deep into the sea to escape the attack of the Blackbeard Pirates, the Heart Pirates were infected with Doc Q’s Disease Fruit.
