What happened in episode 1110 of One Piece?
Produced by Toei Animation; Directed by Katsumi Tokoro
One Piece episode #1110, “Survive! Deadly Combat with the Strongest Form of Humanity!”, opens with Luffy, Zoro, Lucci, and Kaku still fighting S-Bear and S-Hawk and not making much progress. Zoro eventually realizes that the Seraphim have the same Lunarian abilities as King, meaning they have to watch for when the flames on the Seraphim’s backs ignite to know when they can attack them. Everyone reprimands Zoro for taking so long to connect King and Seraphim. But they continued to fight regardless.
The battles against the other Seraphim continued with similar difficulties. While Lilith initially overpowered S-Snake with special bubbles that mimicked the power of the sea on Devil Fruit users, S-Snake used her cuteness to catch everyone off guard and petrified Usopp and Lilith while Franky was left with only one arm. Elsewhere, Nami and Brook's attacks proved largely ineffective against S-Shark, but before Nami could be seriously injured, Sanji arrived and saved Nami from the S-Shark..
While all this fighting was going on, Shaka sneaked into one of Vegapunk's old labs because he suspected Vegapunk might be being held there. Sure enough, Shaka found Vegapunk and the missing Cipher Pol agents locked up, but before he could release them or ask about what happened, Shaka was shot dead by the mastermind behind the Seraphim massacre.. The identity of the attacker was not revealed, but Vegapunk's reaction clearly proved that the theory of one of the satellites being a traitor was true.
One Piece Shocks With Another Major Death
Vegapunk Waterfall
Of all the big moments in One Piece #1110, one of the biggest was definitely Shaka's death at the end of the episode. While One Piece has had more on-screen deaths in the past decade, it still tends to fall into a pattern of only teasing the idea of someone dying outside of flashbacks, so Shaka's apparent murder in vivid detail is a surprising twist to the A piece. Since the satellites are robots, there's still a chance that Shaka will be rebuilt, but it's still a shocking scene for an anime like One Piece.
One Piece Slowly Moves Its Story Into Motion With Episode #1110
Technically, One Piece episode #1110 is a pretty weak episode, even when not compared to the high quality of episode #1109. Episode #1110 never seemed bad, but A piece Episode #1110 is another episode that falls victim to the One Piece anime's tendency to use pointless filler details.with many scenes either dragging on unnecessarily or interspersed with random flashbacks. It's not as bad as some other examples in the series, but it still reminds fans of the problems that the One Piece remake hopes to fix.
Not all of the filler in episode #1110 is difficult to watch, though. While most of the filler is the kind that exists primarily to extend the show's running time, A piece Episode #1110 did a good job of expanding on the battles with the Seraphim. through the added humor and action, all of which fit Eiichiro Oda's writing style. It helped to brighten up a series of battles that would have been rather dull in the manga, and overall, it added a lot to the episode.
Of course, tying everything together is the narrative pacing of One Piece #1110. While #1110 may have been a slow burn, between the escalation of the battles, Shaka's death, and Vegapunk's encounter with the mastermind behind the Seraphim massacre, One Piece #1110 did a great job of moving the story forward, and #1111 will certainly continue to do so. A pieceThe 'story is still going strong in the Egghead Island arc, and issue #1111 onwards will definitely take the story even further.
Be sure to check it out A piece episode #1111 when released on Saturday, June 6.
