Monkey D. Luffy’s devil fruit power, known as Gear Five, has long been considered the strongest in the series. That is until now.
The latest installment in One Piece revolves around The Egghead arc with Bonney and Kuma. In the previous chapters, we see her trying her best to escape the clutches of the Sorbet Kingdom and the government agents who continue to hold her hostage.
Chapter 1101 presents a shocking event and reveals that Bonney possesses a unique ability called the Distorted Future technique. For fans who are wondering if Bonney could have the strongest devil fruit power in the One Piece franchise, let’s take a look.
What are Bonney’s devil fruit powers?
Spoiler alert! This article contains major spoilers for the One Piece manga up to Chapter 1101.
According to official One Piece lore (so far), Bonney’s Paramecia Devil Fruit allows her to manipulate the aging process, allowing her to slow down enemies as well as hide her true age.
However, the recently released Chapter 1101 suggests that Bonney’s powers may be more than we previously realized. In fact, this chapter provided a glimpse of the Bonney devil fruit’s formidable potential, demonstrating power that could rival Luffy’s Gear Five and even the Sun God Nika.
In Chapter 1101, after recovering from Sapphire scab surgery, Bonney finds himself at the mercy of government agents. But she is not as helpless as we think. This chapter reveals that Bonney can use her Distorted Future technique to turn her body into rubber and punch Alpha with a huge list, simulating the devil fruit’s formidable power (Pistol third giant) of Luffy.
We previously speculated that Bonney’s devil fruit powers could only be limited by her imagination. Months ago, you might have laughed that this was just a tinfoil hat theory. But now, it’s clear that this theory may actually be correct.

Bonney and fruit of old age
Bonney’s Age Fruit played a fundamental role in her pirate career, allowing her to pretend to be a woman in her twenties and compete with other fierce pirates.
It also allows her to influence the age of anyone she can touch. Although this age manipulation is temporary, she can turn them into helpless children or weak elders so she can defeat them.
But Bonney’s technique doesn’t just help her become an alternate version of herself. In previous chapters, we saw Kuma telling Bonney the story of the Sun God Nika. He tells her how Nika is a mythical warrior with a rubber-like body who fights to free slaves and can control his body any way he wants.
Upon escaping Alpha, we see Bonney use her Age-Age devil fruit to perform a Distorted Future – a technique that allows her to age into a potential future version of herself. But there’s a shocking twist! Bonney can imagine himself as the Sun God and create an arm made of rubber. With this arm, she punches Alpha, escapes Alpha’s clutches, and begins their pirate life.
As of this writing, we currently do not know how Bonney did this. But there is a suitable explanation. Bonney can use her imagination to transform herself. However, we currently don’t know if her powers have limitations and to what extent she can replicate the abilities of other characters.
One Piece is full of twists and surprises. But fans were stunned by Bonney’s unexpected ability, leading to many discussions breaking out on social networks.
Chapter 1102 spoilers are yet to be released. But as the story continues, fans can be eager to see what revelations about Bonney’s powers await them in the series. Can she join forces with Luffy? Is she the key to defeating Saturn? Stay tuned to One Piece to find out.
